STIR was created to promote locally owned, independent restaurants in the Southern Tier region of Upstate New York. The variety, abundance and quality of restaurants in our area rival those of most any other region of the country. When you dine at these establishments you are supporting your local community. Their income stays here, they pay taxes here and therefore continually reinvest in the development of our community.

STIR is dedicated to educating and inspiring local students wanting to pursue a career in the culinary arts. To make financial constraints less of a burden, we continue to provide educational scholarships each year to budding chefs enrolled in the SUNY Broome and Broome-Tioga BOCES culinary arts programs.
