Culinary Arts Festival – Spring
This festive event is open to the community and features tastings of dishes and drinks from STIR-affiliated restaurants and culinary students, as well as cooking demonstrations by local chefs. Local musicians and non-profit organizations join us for this popular event which takes place at the SUNY-Broome Culinary & Events Center in downtown Binghamton. See photos from pervious events here.
Rumble Ponies We Care Wednesday’s – Summer
We are proud to partner with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies during the summer as part of We Care Wednesday’s when STIR representatives will throw out the first pitch and will be the recipient of the 50/50 raffle that week! Come visit us on the concourse!
STIR It Up! – Summer
This special event is exclusive to local, independent restaurant owners, managers, chefs and staff for an opportunity to network, share successes and issues, as well as generate ideas and collaborations. STIR also invites a featured speaker helpful to business practices.
Savor the Flavors Video Series – Fall
The Savor the Flavor Video Series runs the gamut from demonstration videos showing local chefs applying their craft, to a look behind the curtain in area restaurants, to a close look as some classic signature dishes. Watch for a fun experience! This video series is brought to you in collaboration with the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County.

Our Mission
Southern Tier Independent Restaurants, Inc. (STIR) is a 501c3 Not-For-Profit Corporation in partnership with the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. Founded in 2014, its mission is to promote the patronage of locally owned independent establishments and continue to build a vibrant restaurant scene across the Southern Tier. STIR also sponsors scholarships for SUNY-Broome and Broome/Tioga BOCES Culinary Arts Program students.
